Although I’m the Gym Manager at Proximal Strength, I think our members would probably agree, Gym Goober might be a more accurate title. I love connecting with our members and don’t take myself too seriously, I believe life and fitness is more enjoyable that way. I’m a certified CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, and it’s an absolute privilege, blessing, and honor to work and coach at Proximal Strength. By far the greatest job I’ve ever had. Not only has this community become my family, but I get to work alongside my actual family and a phenomenal coaching staff. I love our community, and I’m so thankful to be a part of it. It’s easy for us as humans to feel alone, inadequate, less than, incapable, not enough. The beautiful thing about Proximal Strength is that none of us are alone, we’re in it together. It’s a “come as you are” culture. None of us are perfect, but all of us are learning, growing, healing, and becoming stronger together. Each of us, while on our own individual health and life journeys, have one another to be encouraged and supported by. It’s just as our mission states — at our core, we are unified, rooted in love, and strong because we are together. I can personally speak to my own journey, from the day I walked through the doors of Proximal Strength, I’ve become stronger, in every facet of the word, and I am forever grateful. That being said, if I ever shout goofy, encouraging statements while coaching in an awkward voice from a megaphone, my alter ego would like to apologize in advance. He gets a little excited sometimes. I also apologize for his dance moves. It’s just the way he is.
